Here are some of the Fort-related activities that the Fort Hamilton Citizens Action Committee has supported in the past and plans to continue supporting in the future:

The Military District of Washington sends its band and historical action team up to our community with an inspiring message of patriotism — a world-class event that's open to the public.

Lots of people representing all of the elements that make up a dynamic military installation get together, with their families, to celebrate the ongoing work they do as a team.

Included are the following: Flag Day & Army Birthday Retreat; POW/MIA Retreat; and Veterans Day Retreat. These events feature color guards, patriotic songs, inspirational speeches, and other elements of military pomp and ceremony. Among those participating are the Fort's community, school children, JROTC units, and veterans groups.

This solemn occasion brings the Fort personnel and the community together to again underscore the importance of never forgetting the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

Military personnel and civilians, children and veterans, gather on The Bluff to join in opening New York City's Fleet Week activities by offering a 21- gun salute to the Parade of Ships as the ships pass the Fort and head up the Narrows.
